Announcing The Final Four!

Sixty books have been eliminated, and there are only four books left. It's been a crazy ten days of #BookMadness, and the next two days promise to deliver even more. Two of the remaining four books will compete in the championship round this weekend. We'll announce the Final Four and open up voting at the end of this post. But, first, let's recap some of the highlight from this last round.

* Prophecy or curse? When we announced the Sweet 16 earlier this month, we asked our readers which book they expected to win. Angie Thomas' The Hate U Give was chosen by nearly 45% of the voters but was eliminated in a dramatic upset just a few days later. The second-most-popular choice, Jenny Han's To All The Boys I've Loved Before, has made it to the Final Four and is only one victory away from a shot at the championship.

* Going into the midnight hours yesterday, Angie Thomas' On The Come Up and Nicola Yoon's The Sun Is Also A Star were locked in a dead heat. Even after an intense late-night rally, the match was still too close to call this morning. The match was sent into overtime, resulting in a abbreviated Instagram poll that closed just minutes ago. Thanks to a groundswell of fan support, The Sun Is Also A Star emerged victorious and will be facing off against fan favorite To All The Boys I've Loved Before in the semi-finals.

* Last year's champion, JK Rowling's Harry Potter, is also returning to the semi-finals after defeating Suzanne Collin's The Hunger Games. Last year, Harry Potter bested Angie Thomas' The Hate U Give. Before today's overtime match results, it looked possible that JK Rowling and Angie Thomas might have a rematch of sorts. Now, however, everyone's favorite boy wizard will have to defeat a brand-new opponent in order to hold onto its crown, aka Tri-Wizard Cup. First, though, it will need to face off against Elizabeth Acevedo's award-winning novel The Poet X.

Because this semi-final round features only two match-ups, we will only be giving two days of voting. That means we'll be announcing the Championship Match this Saturday, March 30th. Voting for the Final Four is now open and will remain so until midnight on Friday. And to keep with the basketball theme, we're teaming up with Kobe Bryant and Wesley King to give away three signed copies of their new novel Training Camp. You'll gain an extra entry every round that you vote.
