This poem is part of our weekly series featuring today's authors and long-lost pieces they wrote as teenagers. Today's guest is K. Parr, whose book The Sun And Moon Beneath The Stars is available now.
A note from the author: Seventh grade was when writing took off for me. I had a teacher who encouraged my creativity, and being a huge reader at the time, I was also inspired by the many books I consumed. 'Alone With Hope' has elements of Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Tuck Everlasting, and more, all typed out on my family's old '93 Macintosh computer!

K is a writer of multiple genres, including young adult, romance, fantasy, paranormal, and humor, all of which star LGBT characters. She received her MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in 2017. In her spare time, K reads and writes fanfiction, keeps up with way too many TV shows, and dances wildly in her apartment. She currently works as a teen librarian in Rhode Island.
